Bio

I was born in Casale Monferrato (AL) on October 25, 1997, and my journey into the world of music began with the influence of my grandfather, who had a deep passion for art and cinema.

By the time I was 10, I had my first encounter with the drums, initiating my studies at the Carlo Soliva music institute in Casale Monferrato under the tutelage of Chicco Accornero, a renowned jazz drummer from Northern Italy. It was through him that I took my initial steps into jazz music at a young age, performing with local musicians when I was just 13.

Following my completion of a scientific high school education, I moved to Milan at the age of 18 to further my musical studies. I enrolled in the bachelor program in film scoring at the prestigious “Scuola Civica di Musica Classica Claudio Abbado” in Milan and also pursued the “Batteria Maxxima” course at NAM Bovisa School, guided by the famous drummer Maxx Furian. In 2019 I attended the “Berklee Five Week Program” in Boston, thanks to a full scholarship I was awarded during the selection process.

After graduating with honors in drums and composition, I continued my drum studies at Siena Jazz University. My time there provided the opportunity to study with some of the world’s leading figures in jazz music, including Gregory Hutchinson, Jeff Ballard, Ziv Ravitz, Ferenc Nemeth, Ralph Alessi, Joe Sanders, Giovanni Falzone, Nico Gori, Yonatan Avishai, and Jessie Davis. I was also selected to perform at the conservatory in Amsterdam alongside my teacher and saxophonist, Dan Kinzelman, and three fellow students.

On May 13, 2023, I graduated in Jazz drums and percussion, presenting a thesis project that combines jazz and improvised music with cinematic music.

From the age of 13, I started performing regularly, playing various musical genres. To date, I have numerous collaborations with both Italian and international artists.

In the jazz realm, I have collaborated with artists such as Scott Hamilton, Ralph Alessi, Maurizio Giammarco, Emanuele Cisi, Luigi Tessarollo, Tullio De Piscopo, Alberto Mandarini, Claudio Allifranchini, Attilio Sepe, Lorenzo Simoni, Camilla Rolando, Edoardo Liberati, Guglielmo Santimone, Giacomo Serino, Mario Iannuzziello, Giulio Scianatico, Francesco Tino and many more.

I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with artists from other musical genres as well such as Vittorio De Scalzi (New Trolls), Vittorio Nocenzi (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso), Bernardo Lanzetti (PFM), Maurizio Vandelli (Equipe 84), and Roberto Tiranti (New Trolls, Labyrinth).

I’ve performed on the stages of various and prestigious music events and festivals, including Umbria Jazz, Berklee College of Music Performance Center, Casa del Jazz, Northsea ’round town jazz festival, Novara Jazz Festival, Borgo in Jazz, Jazz in Sardegna, and Monfrà Jazz Fest. I’ve also served as an artistic director for Monfrà Jazz Fest. I engage in extensive session work, recording for artists across different genres.

In January 2024 I was selected to be the drummer and percussionist for the summer tour of “Elio e le Storie Tese“, one of the most famous and influential Italian bands of all time.

I also work in the movie industry, composing soundtracks for films and animated shorts. In 2021, I composed the soundtrack for the feature film “Traces of Madness,” directed by Michele Di Rienzo, which was released in Italian theaters in 2022.

I’m also involved in teaching activities, offering private lessons, masterclasses, and courses for elementary, middle, and high schools, covering topics ranging from music history to drums and film music.”
